John Hinton is the retired Chief Financial Officer of DeMattei Construction, bringing 45+ years of experience in construction and operations management expertise to the Big Wave Board, Leadership and Finance teams. DeMattei is one of the leading custom homes and commercial construction companies in the Bay Area, focusing on enduring quality, style and craftsmanship, which is a focus that John brings to the Big Wave project.
Jack Easterbrook
Big Wave Group Board Director & Finance Committee Member
Jack Easterbrook is an attorney and partner in the law firm Strategy Law, LLP in San Jose, CA, with a focus on secured debt financing and real estate. He was a founding partner of Strategy Law and has prior significant experience with national and regional law firms. Before his legal career, Jack was a loan officer and group manager handling corporate and real estate loans with a major national bank in San Francisco. He has been involved with the Big Wave project for over a decade and was on the finance committee of Big Wave before joining the Board of Directors.
Stephen St. Marie

Stephen St. Marie is an Economist, Regulatory Analyst, and Policy Advisor focused on energy, water, and environmental issues.
Kim Gainza
Big Wave Group Board Director & Farm Committee Chair
Kim Gainza has been involved in the Special Olympics since 2007 as a team parent and fundraiser for the Coastside Special Olympics basketball team. Under her management, the team has gone from seven players at its inception to over 50 players today, including four teams and 12 coaches who serve Special Olympics athletes from all of San Mateo County. Kim has brought in over 30 coaches over the years from local high schools and colleges, which provided them with unique and valuable learning experiences to take out into the world.
Dayton Nordin
Big Wave Group Board Director & Finance Committee Chair
Dayton Nordin is a senior partner for Ernst & Young, one of the largest professional consulting organizations in the world. There, he focuses on Corporate Finance and Transformation of the largest global organizations, and he brings his deep finance expertise to Big Wave. He has also been involved with not-for-profit organizations for over two decades. Beyond Big Wave, he currently serves on the Finance Committee of Perkins School for the Blind and is Vice Chair of the Appraisal Foundation.
