Blueberry Bushes are Planted!

Thank you to all of you who came out on December 10th to help plant blueberry bushes!   It was successful because of your help.  These new bushes are our first step toward our Big Wave Farm; we are so excited to continue building for the future of The Big Wave Project.  Thank you for supporting us.

Stay tuned for winter and spring planting!

Help Plant Blueberry Bushes

Hello Farmers,

On December 10, Saturday, 10:00 AM SHARP, we will kick off the Big Wave Farm on our site to plant 60 2 year old blueberry bushes. This day will mark the official beginning of our farm which ultimately will cover 20 acres.

The planting should take about 2 hours then we will have a planning meeting for future crops while having a BBQ.

We want our future residents to get dirty hands, not just their parents, family and friends.

Bring a trowel, a shovel if you have one, gloves and a side dish. We will provide the meat, drinks and BBQ.

We have already built 8 raised beds for a start. The blueberries, a test case, will go in one of the beds. Other fruits and vegetables we have discussed for this part of the farm are blackberries, kiwi, apples and figs, spinach, lettuce, radishes, beets, beans and peas. We are open to suggestions along with commitments.

Let me know who can make it so we can properly plan.

Hope to see you there.
