What kind of jobs will be available for people with developmental disabilities through the Wellness Center? |

Big Wave will create 60-90 jobs for individuals with developmental disabilities. All aspects of Big Wave (water, power, wetlands, community center, Office Park, etc.) will be structured to include and employ the developmentally disabled. From cooking communal meals to caring for the surrounding wetlands, residents will have meaningful employment within walking distance of their homes. |

What kind of services will the Wellness Center provide for the residents? |

Big Wave is all about the possibilities, not the disabilities! The Wellness Center will provide residents with the opportunity to create a lifestyle based on independence and community involvement. Big Wave will provide the opportunity for every resident to own his or her own home as part of a cooperative housing community Residents will be able to secure employment within walking or wheelchair distance, have access to vocational and educational courses on site or by Big Wave shuttle and be able participate in a number of recreational activities and excursions. In an effort to ensure the highest quality of life for every resident, Big Wave will employ a financial advisor and dietician as resident advisors. Big Wave looks forward to working with Coastside organizations such as HOPE Services and C-PALS to enhance the lives of developmentally disabled adults on the Coastside. |

Who will run the Wellness Center? |

The Wellness Center will be governed by a Board of Directors , consisting of financial, business, professional, educational, and community leaders, as well as experts in developmental disabilities. The Board of Directors will ensure that the vision and mission of Big Wave always thrives at the Wellness Center through hiring qualified and dedicated managers and officers, utilizing input from the Parent Advisory Board and residents, and ensuring the sound management of all aspects of the Wellness Center. |
